Krave Deli, Wilsden - Well done Christian!

Back in March 2011, Christian Lambert approached Ernest Wilsons to enquire about 126 Main Street, Wilsden which we were selling for the owners, we also acted for the landlord. It is amazing to see what Christian has done to the property and created a fantastic business which is the talk of not only Wilsden but the whole of West Yorkshire.

The business is ranked as number 1 on Tripadvisor which goes to show that

Having sampled both the food and coffee, I can highly recommend the business and if anyone is passing anywhere near Wilsden, it would be a shame not to sample it.

At Ernest Wilsons, we handle many cafe sales and this is a great benchmark for anybody thinking of buying or setting up a new cafe.

Thinking of selling your business - new instructions urgently required

Over the past quarter, interest from clients in buying their own business has significantly increased. Alot of this we feel is down to confidence coupled with the recent reports that house prices are at a 3 year high increase giving potential buyers confidence to borrow against their house.

All types of businesses are popular and also leasehold and freehold options are seeing significant interest.

Talking to a buyer recently, she advised that she had wanted to buy a business for the last few years but only now feels confident enough to take the steps into becoming her own boss. She has had many ideas that she wanted to put into a business and has found commercial premises with a decent rent free period allowing her to fulfil her dream.

Flushing out buyers

Napoleon reportedly said “England is a Nation of Shopkeepers” in dismissing England’s preparedness for war against France. Certainly it is our continued experience at Ernest Wilsons that many of our countrymen still harbour a desire to run their own business even in these challenging economic times, whether that be in retail, food, wholesale, service industry, manufacturing, web based the list goes on. According to a survey of 2,000 youngsters, commissioned to support the Ambition AXA Awards, around half (47 per cent) say that they have always wanted to be their own boss, buying a business is one way to achieve that goal. Another recent survey by oneworkinglife.com revealed from a sample of 2,000 full and part-time employees across the UK, 18% want to run their own business. However David Singleton, the former Managing Director of Lloyds TSB Business, said some years ago, "There is no doubt about the British appetite for business ownership, but sadly this desire fades largely through fear of the unknown”. To help people who have harboured an ambition or have thought about buying their own business but not yet taken the first step, Ernest Wilsons run seminars titled “Thinking of Buying Your Own Business – Learn How? “ As the title suggests this is aimed at benefiting people who have thought of running their own business but that is as far as they have got, maybe because of fear of the unknown and the many questions and/or anxieties they have about it have gone unanswered. During these one day seminars they spend time with Business and Stock Valuers, Bankers, a Solicitor and Accountant covering and answering questions all about the “ins and outs” of buying a business. By attending this educational informal seminar people feel more confident about exploring the dream they have to run their own business. We know that many delegates from these seminars go on to buy a business, having built up the confidence and the know how to proceed. These seminars well illustrate our passion to sell businesses and set us aside from our competitors for more information on Ernest Wilson Business Agents, visit www.ernest-wilson.co.uk
